Carrot or Stick!

As a self-help expert it is important for me to understand what inspires my clients either in a group training session or in a one-to-one session. I describe motivation as the reason that a person is willing to do something. I believe that in general there are two main reasons why people do something ‘Carrot or Stick’. A person motivated by a carrot is thinking about the good thing that they will get if they for example, achieve a goal. A person motivated by a stick is thinking about the not so good that will happen if they for example, do not achieve a goal.
I have two questions for you:

Ø Is David Goggins driven by a carrot or stick, (if you don’t know who this person is you must check him out)?

Ø What drives you a carrot or stick?
